About The Role
The Paralegal role at Oritain is a broad, substantive paralegal position sitting at the heart of our Legal function.
The role works directly with the Legal & Governance Counsel to manage the full commercial contracting lifecycle, support supplier and NDA management, and help build and operationalise a new contracting framework as the business scales.
The role is responsible for managing multiple moving parts simultaneously- commercial contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, and legal operations- in a fast-moving environment where organisation, judgement, and initiative are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contracting
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from intake to execution — drafting, redlining, tracking, and filing
- Support the Legal & Governance Counsel in operationalising the new contract playbook across all commercial contract types (services agreements, MSAs, pilot agreements, programme agreements)
- Drive contracting standardisation and control across the portfolio- aligning standard-form contracts and clause positions to Oritain’s product definitions to ensure consistency
- Ensure contracting operating windows are captured and applied consistently across all standard terms and conditions
- Maintain and update the contract repository and tracking log, ensuring visibility of key dates, renewals, and obligations
- Track contracting terms, expiration dates, and ongoing adherence- proactively flagging renewals, key milestones, and deviations for review;
- Prepare first drafts and standard-form redlines for lower-complexity contracts under supervision
- Coordinate cross-functionally to gather approvals, signatures, and instructions in line with the escalation framework

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
