Paralegal Job

Location: Cardiff
Job Type: Permanent
Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications

We have a fantastic opportunity for Paralegals to join our Cardiff team. Sedgwick Legal Services (SLS) delivers legal advice and dispute resolution for major insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, large corporates, utilities, and local authorities. The role centres on property damage claims, including incidents such as fires, floods, building collapses, water escapes, and subsidence.

Based in our Central Cardiff office, the position follows a hybrid model, requiring three days of in-office work each week. You’ll be responsible for updating case management systems and tracking key diary dates. You will assist with claim investigations, gather evidence, and obtain witness statements. Ensuring that technical reports support causation and collecting relevant contractual documents will also be part of your duties.

Working alongside Partners, Associates, and Team Leaders, you’ll contribute to complex litigation while ensuring compliance with client protocols. You’ll also play a role in developing systems that integrate SLS into Sedgwick’s digital infrastructure.

This opportunity allows you to join a global, award-winning firm, contribute to a growing legal team, and thrive in a culture that values wellbeing, innovation, and professional development.

The skills you will have when you apply:

  • Professional Qualifications: Preferably have a degree or previous relevant legal experience.
  • Expertise: Knowledge of the litigation process is desirable.
  • Contract and Tort Knowledge: Be interested in and have a good working knowledge of general contract and tortious principles.
  • Motor Insurance Law: Be interested in and willing to learn insurance-based motor law.
  • Technical Knowledge: Be interested in and willing to learn the technical aspects of motor claims investigations as required for the role.
  • Team Orientation: Be team-orientated, with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
  • Commercial Perspective: Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to claims settlement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
