Role Description
The Paralegal is a full-time position based in Derbyshire, structured as a hybrid role with a mix of on-site and work-from-home days. The role involves supporting the legal team by preparing and drafting statements, managing case files, and delivering support to the wider organisation.

- Conducting legal and factual research
- Reviewing and organizing documentation
- Supporting the management of claims, inquests, and regulatory matters
The Paralegal will liaise with internal departments, clinical teams, and external stakeholders to obtain information, respond to queries, and help ensure compliance with applicable laws and NHS policies. The role also includes assisting with reporting, maintaining case management systems, and contributing to process improvements within the legal function.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of Law, including understanding of healthcare, civil, or administrative law relevant to NHS settings.
- Strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, and managing contracts, correspondence, and case-related paperwork.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to legal professionals, clinical staff, and external partners.
- Representing the organisation at inquests.
- Careful Document Review skills, with attention to detail in checking accuracy, completeness, and compliance of legal documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a busy healthcare environment.
- Good IT skills, including use of case management systems, document management tools, and standard office applications.
- Relevant qualification such as a Paralegal diploma, legal studies degree, or equivalent experience in a legal or NHS setting.
- Experience in healthcare, public sector, or regulatory environments is desirable.
