The Role

Department: Volume Motor

Location: Manchester

Role: Paralegal (Entry level)

Key Responsibilities

This is an entry level role and full training will be provided enabling you to carry out the key responsibilities as follows:

  • Handle low value infant approval, OIC and MOJ stage 3 files.
  • Deal with all procedural matters from issue through to trial
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Draft all pleadings
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • An undergraduate law degree or equivalent (minimum 2:1 required).
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
  • A professional manner with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
