Paralegal
Paralegal – Samsung ESBO Legal Team
Position Summary

We are a small Legal team within Samsung’s fast-growing and even-faster-paced European Services Business Office (ESBO). ESBO delivers exceptional content and seamless connected user experiences across Samsung’s ecosystem—including streaming, advertising, mobile, gaming, smart appliances, and art—by leveraging its scale, data, and technology.
As part of the business, our Legal team facilitates growth while mitigating legal and regulatory risk. As a Paralegal, you’ll assist with media law across a diverse spectrum: channel & content licensing, app distribution, ad-tech, advertising, mobile experiences, gaming, and more.
The role spans across all of Europe, requiring collaboration with colleagues and counterparties in the UK and EU.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:

Ownership of ESBO’s legal matter process:
- Provide training to business stakeholders on legal request creation and management.
- Facilitate contract conclusion and signature.

Maintain and improve team contact archives and legal advice notes intranet.

Team support:
- Assist with internal process tools (e.g., expenses, billing, automated NDA processes).

Contribute to team knowledge development by:
- Reporting on legal changes relevant to ESBO.
- Sharing industry updates.

Seek and coordinate input from:
- Colleagues across European subsidiary legal teams.
- ESBO business teams (Finance, Product, Tax, etc.).
- Assist with:
- (i) Pan-EU contracting for procurement of services/key projects.
- (ii) Advising on pan-European and local laws applicable to ESBO.

Liaise with external law firms and specialists.

Assist with the preparation and negotiation of commercial contracts (e.g.):
- Channel & content licences.
- App distribution agreements.
- Marketing agreements.
- Media sales agreements (including supply-side platforms and trading deals).
- Other ad-tech and advertising-related documentation.

Provide legal and regulatory risk advice, especially in targeted advertising, streaming, and app distribution.

Ad-hoc tasking in team events and projects.

What We Need for This Role

Strong academics with a demonstrated interest in legal work, whether:
- Obtaining a law degree.
- Currently studying law.
- Studying a related subject.

Interest in technology and business, and enthusiasm for working across legal disciplines and subject matters.

Willingness to learn, take ownership of your development, and quickly pick up new tasks.

Highly organised, with the ability to handle creative and repetitive tasks (e.g. drafting, detail-focused work, administrative processes).

Excellent prioritisation skills to balance risk-level, urgency, and business-value across multiple tasks.

Clear understanding of when to escalate issues and confidence in raising them with senior team members.

Humility and drive to learn from mistakes and improve through feedback and experience.
