Paralegal, Major Injury & Casualty Team – Belfast

As a Paralegal within the Casualty team, you’ll assist with managing a diverse caseload of personal injury-related claims, gaining invaluable experience across the entire lifecycle of the case, including investigation, evidence gathering, and legal preparation.
Working closely with colleagues, clients, insurers, and stakeholders, you’ll gain insights into litigation processes and refine technical, organisational, and analytical skills.
This role operates primarily in the office, with 3-4 days per week attendance required in Belfast.
Responsibilities
- Assist supervisors in managing a caseload of personal injury claims, covering:
- Employers Liability (EL)
- Public Liability (PL)
- Conduct legal research and support case preparation
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and solicitor’s briefs
- Review and assess EL and PL insurance claims, including identifying potential fraud indicators
- Gather and analyse evidence, such as:
- CCTV footage
- Accident reports
- Witness statements
- Compile court bundles and support document filing processes
- Maintain accurate case management records using software systems
- Liaise with clients, insurers, and external stakeholders to facilitate progressive case progression

What Will Help You Succeed?
Essential
✔ A sharp attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities effectively ✔ Excellent organisational and communication skills ✔ Proficient in case management systems and adept at conducting legal research ✔ Self-motivation to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Desirable
🔹 Prior experience in a legal or professional setting 🔹 Familiarity with personal injury claims or insurance-related litigation 🔹 Understanding of the Northern Irish legal and civil litigation processes
