Introduction to the Role
The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) is looking for a Paralegal to join the Legal and Regulatory team on a short-term fixed-term contract. This role has been created to support a significant market-wide contract review and stakeholder consultation project. Working at the centre of the market, you will act as a central point of coordination between the LMA, members, external legal advisers and other stakeholders, helping to ensure feedback, actions and project documentation are managed effectively and supporting the successful delivery of this high-profile market initiative.
Alongside the contract review project, you will contribute to a range of legal and regulatory activities, including supporting the development of London market model contracts, clauses and guidance documents, undertaking legal and regulatory research, assisting with consultation responses and monitoring emerging legal, regulatory and public policy developments affecting the insurance sector.
The role offers the opportunity to work closely with legal professionals from leading insurance organisations, regulators, government bodies and external advisers, while developing expertise in insurance law, regulation and market governance.
This role is based in our London office in EC3M, with an expectation of being onsite three days per week (typically Tuesday to Thursday) initially.
Introduction to the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA)
The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) represents the interests of 59 Lloyd’s managing agents and members’ agents.
The purpose of the LMA is to make the market a better place and in so doing, maintain the Lloyd’s market’s position as the pre-eminent leader in specialty and commercial risk. We sit at the centre of the Lloyd’s market, a world-leading global marketplace for complex risk.
We seek to make the market a better place in five fundamental ways. First, we advocate on behalf of our members with key stakeholders, including governments, regulators and the Corporation of Lloyd’s. Second, our work spans technical and professional support, from developing model policy wordings to providing guidance on regulatory and legislative requirements.
Third, our award-winning LMA Academy is one of the leading providers of Lloyd’s technical training in the market, supporting the ongoing development of underwriting, claims, finance, risk and operations professionals. Fourth, we drive forward a digitalisation agenda for the market and fifth, we are strong advocates of advancing the market’s inclusive culture.
Collaboration is at the core of what we do. We engage closely with our members to understand and tackle the issues that matter most, and we partner with Lloyd’s and other market associations to help shape the future of the marketplace.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
