The Role: Healthcare Litigation Paralegal
As a Paralegal in the healthcare litigation team, you’ll work on a range of defendant clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts. This role offers hands-on experience across all aspects of clinical negligence litigation, covering a wide range of medical fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtaining and reviewing medical records
- Instructing experts and advising clients on key liability issues
- Assisting qualified solicitors with:
- Preparation of court documents
- Liaising with witnesses and experts
- Organising and attending conferences
- Attending settlement meetings & mediations
- Conducting research

Daily Duties:
- Running your own caseload of pre-action claims
- Assisting solicitors/associates/partners with cases in litigation
- Undertaking a broad range of tasks to support case progression
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A law degree (preferred but not always mandatory – relevant experience may also be considered)
- Genuine interest in healthcare litigation and clinical negligence
- Excellent organisational, IT, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong skills in planning, prioritising, and meeting deadlines
- An understanding of the importance of data security and compliance with internal and client guidelines
