Experienced Paralegal/Legal Executive – Police Malfeasance Civil Claims

Our Police, Care and Justice team is seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Executive to join a specialised sub-team handling civil claims on behalf of police forces across the UK.

Responsibilities
- Manage a UK-wide caseload of civil claims for police forces, handling:
- Employer’s liability (EL)
- Public liability (PL)
- Personal injury
- False imprisonment
- Assault and negligence
- Data protection, Equality Act, Human Rights Act, and judicial review claims
- Support senior solicitors on complex, sensitive, and high-profile matters.

Key deliverables:
- Collaborate with the Police, Care and Justice team to ensure top-tier client service for both public and private sector clients.
- Maintain high standards of work efficiency while meeting client expectations, particularly in sensitive/high-profile cases.
- Engage in training and development to build expertise in litigation, Article 2 inquests, and public inquiries.
- Drive the growth and success of a well-established team.
What Will Help You Succeed?
Essential
- Proven experience in civil litigation, with a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Ability to dependably manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision, while supporting senior colleagues on complex cases.
- Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills, with a commitment to strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail, paired with sophisticated written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative mindset and proactive initiative with independence to take ownership.
- Passion for litigation and a willingness to upskill through training.

Desirable (Training Provided)
- Prior interest or experience in police claims work (not mandatory).
