You’ll gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of medical negligence matters, working closely with clients, experts, and Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for new and existing clients, taking initial instructions and gathering key information with empathy and professionalism.
  • Supporting fee earners in the day-to-day management of cases, ensuring files progress efficiently and in line with procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with the investigation of claims, including obtaining, reviewing, and organising medical records and other key evidence.
  • Liaising with medical experts, Counsel, and other third parties, and supporting the organisation of conferences and meetings.
  • Preparing documentation to support litigation processes, including court bundles and instructions to Counsel.
  • Assisting with hearing preparation, and where appropriate, attending court hearings and conferences.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records, time recording, and supporting the achievement of team financial and performance targets.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to team objectives, sharing knowledge and supporting a positive team culture.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in medical negligence law and practice, undertaking relevant training as required.
  • Supporting wider business development and client engagement activities, where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
