Paralegal - Motor
Paralegal / Senior Paralegal – Volume Motor Team Glasgow or Edinburgh office
We are seeking a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal to join our specialist Volume Motor team based in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will bring Motor/RTA fee-earning experience and demonstrate proficiency in managing a defendant caseload of litigated matters. Your role will include:
- Handling up to ~70 active files concurrently
- Managing procedural steps from case issue through to trial
- Drafting all pleadings (including court forms)
- Valuing personal injury claims using JC Guidelines and relevant case law
- Assessing special damages accurately under time constraints
- Negotiating settlements persuasively both on phone or via correspondence
- Applying strong litigation promotion skills and securing appropriate outcomes
- Preparing witness statements for defendants (via phone or video call)
- Attending conferences with counsel where required
- Liaising across all stakeholders—claimant solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, insurers, and policyholders
- Effective case management with timely completion of Management Information
- Strict adherence to client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for reporting deadlines
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills in high-pressure workplaces

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum: Immediate post-qualification experience in Motor/RTA litigation
- Literacy & numeracy: High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Workload management: Ability to meet deadlines efficiently under fast-paced conditions
- Relationship building: Professional manner with capacity to foster internal and external trust
- Technical aptitude: Confident user of case management software with a can-do attitude
