Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Paralegal to join our Defendant Litigation team at DAC Beachcroft based in Belfast.
Our team advises leading insurers and household-name corporate clients on defending claims of varying types, values, and complexity.
In this role, you will work within our Motor Injury team, managing cases involving motor injury, credit hire, and property damage. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain experience in a specialist area of litigation.
Please note that for the first 6 months in this role you will be expected to attend the office 5 days per week.
What you will do?
As a Paralegal within the Motor Injury team, your day to day will look like:
- Managing and assisting with a varied caseload of pre-litigation and litigated matters under appropriate supervision, including disputed liability cases and attending Court/Counsel.
- Meeting individual performance targets, including financial metrics, realisation rates, settlement rates, and average claim spend.
- Supporting marketing and business development activities, such as attending client events and training sessions.
- Ensuring quality control and compliance on your caseload, including accurate and timely management reporting.
- Maintaining awareness of firm procedures and strategies.
- Developing technical knowledge through training and relevant publications.
- Handling confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.

Who you are
We are happy to hear from graduates or those with customer service/retail experience who are team players and have the passion for learning. We'd also like to hear from Paralegals who may already have experience working in a legal environment.
You will have;
Essential:
- Genuine interest in motor work and commitment to meeting client needs.
- Ability to take a commercial approach to legal issues while maintaining high-quality service.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with clarity and confidence.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-standard work.
- Ability to comply strictly with client requirements and SLAs.
- Alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles: Clear, Creative, Determined, and Supportive.
Desirable:
- Experience in handling or assisting with motor litigation claims (not essential).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
