About the Role

This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of client matters, including document management, due diligence, data subject access requests and contentious intellectual property work.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with document reviews for data subject access requests and litigation disclosure exercises.
  • Supporting contentious workstreams — including intellectual property disputes and employment tribunal cases — by preparing hearing bundles and carrying out court process tasks.
  • Carrying out tasks to progress undefended litigation across Scottish and English jurisdictions, including letters before action, enforcement and recovery steps, asset traces, and negotiation of payment arrangements under fee earner supervision.
  • Providing support to fee earners with document management, due diligence and project-based work across a range of practice areas, including reviewing, redacting and preparing contracts and other legal documents.
  • Contributing to the preparation of first draft documents and client-ready materials under fee earner guidance.

About You

This dynamic and varied role is a fantastic opportunity for a diligent and ambitious paralegal possessing the attributes and skills below to join a thriving paralegal team:

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously and to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with lawyers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team whilst using your own initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Familiarity with Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
  • Legal Tech: A keen focus on leveraging digital tools to manage the full matter lifecycle — from instructions being received through to completion. A hunger to learn new skills, including how to use new AI automation and other legal tech tools to support our evolving service delivery model.

A relevant paralegal qualification and/or degree in law would be beneficial but is not essential. Any experience gained through a paralegal role, placement, internship or legal studies would be advantageous, as would exposure to legal processes, dispute-related matters, stakeholder communication or document management.
