Paralegal
Position Summary

We are a small Legal team sitting within Samsung’s fast-growing and even faster-paced European Services Business Office (ESBO). ESBO is dedicated to delivering exceptional content and seamless connected user experiences across Samsung’s ecosystem (streaming, advertising, mobile, gaming, smart appliances and art) by harnessing its scale, data and technology.
We see ourselves part of the business, helping to facilitate its extraordinary growth while protecting it from legal and regulatory risk. As Paralegal, you will provide assistance to the Legal team across the spectrum of media law – including channel & content licensing, app distribution, ad-tech, advertising, mobile experiences, gaming – and beyond! ESBO operates across all of Europe, so you will be dealing with colleagues and counterparties across the continent, as well as in the UK.
Role And Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership over ESBO’s legal matter process, including:
- Providing training to business stakeholders on legal request creation and management
- Facilitating contract conclusion and signature
- Maintaining and improving team contact archives and advice note intranet
- Team support including with internal process tools (e.g., expenses; billing; automated NDA processes)
- Contributing to team knowledge development, including:
- Reporting back on legal changes relevant to the business area
- Sharing interesting industry updates
- Coordination and collaboration:
- Seeking and coordinating input from colleagues across:
- European subsidiary legal teams
- ESBO business teams (Finance, Product, Tax, etc.)
- Assisting with:
- Pan-EU contracting for procurement of services or key projects/engagements
- Advising on pan-European and local laws relevant to ESBO
- Seeking and coordinating input from colleagues across:
- Liaison with external law firms and specialists
- Assisting with the preparation and negotiation of contracts and documentation relating to:
- Channel and content licences
- App distribution agreements
- Marketing agreements
- Media sales agreements (including supply-side platforms and trading agreements with agencies)
- Providing legal and regulatory risk advice, particularly in areas such as:
- Targeted advertising
- Streaming
- App distribution space
- Ad-hoc team support, including help with:
- Team events
- Projects
- Contributing to maintaining the team’s reputation within the business as a responsive, ambitious, trusted, and commercially-minded legal function, including:
- Managing the weekly Legal newsletter
