Paralegal
Legal Executive / Paralegal
Location: Glasgow / Hybrid 50% onsite
Rates: £190p/d
Contract: 6 Months
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading global bank to hire a Legal Executive (Master Agreements) to join their expanding UK CIB Legal team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal, law graduate, or junior lawyer to build a career in investment banking legal, working on complex derivatives and trading documentation within a highly collaborative, international environment. You will play a key role in negotiating and delivering master agreements that support a wide range of global trading activities.
Key Responsibilities
Master Agreement Negotiation & Execution
- Negotiate and draft a variety of trading agreements including:
- ISDA Master Agreements & CSAs
- GMRA, EFET and clearing documentation
- Give-ups and collateral arrangements
- Ensure timely execution of agreements while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance
- Conduct legal analysis on counterparties, jurisdictions, and risk considerations

Legal Advisory
- Provide high-quality legal advice to internal stakeholders across trading businesses
- Advise on appropriate contractual provisions and bespoke clauses
- Support legal risk management and enforceability frameworks
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external counsel
- Maintain strong relationships with global business units and clients
- Provide regular updates on negotiation status and portfolio activity
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to development of templates, procedures, and legal documentation standards
- Support training and knowledge sharing within the team
- Work collaboratively across global legal teams

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
- Law degree (LLB preferred) or equivalent legal experience
- Experience in contract negotiation (any sector considered)
- Interest in investment banking, derivatives, and financial markets
Skills & Capability
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Exposure to ISDA, GMRA or other trading agreements (not essential)
- Experience in financial services or in-house legal environments
