Paralegal – Property Management & Construction
Location: Croydon, South London
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing Property Management and Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in property law, litigation, construction, or commercial law who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of residential and commercial property matters.
- Prepare, review, and amend legal documents, contracts, licences, tenancy agreements, and correspondence.
- Support solicitors and management with property transactions, disputes, and legal proceedings.
- Draft legal notices, witness statements, and court documents.
- Assist with landlord and tenant matters, including possession proceedings, rent arrears, lease disputes, and tenancy enforcement.
- Conduct legal research relating to property, construction, contract, and commercial law.
- Liaise with solicitors, barristers, local authorities, courts, surveyors, contractors, estate agents, and other third parties.
- Maintain legal files and ensure accurate document management.
- Monitor court deadlines, legal correspondence, and case progress.
- Assist with planning, licensing, and regulatory matters.
- Review construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and service contracts.
- Support with procurement documentation and contractual compliance.
- Assist with debt recovery and enforcement matters.
- Prepare reports and legal summaries for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including landlord and tenant law, health and safety requirements, and data protection regulations.
- Carry out general administrative duties to support the legal and property teams.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Executive.
- Good knowledge of property law, landlord and tenant law, and civil litigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to commute to Croydon.

Desirable Requirements
- Experience in residential or commercial conveyancing.
- Experience in construction law or contract administration.
- Experience dealing with County Court proceedings and possession claims.
- Familiarity with Land Registry procedures and title documentation.
- Knowledge of leasehold and freehold property matters.
- Experience working within a property management company, housing association, developer, or construction business.
- Law degree (LLB), LPC, SQE, CILEX qualification, or equivalent legal qualification.
