Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview
Our dedicated Healthcare and Public Law Team are now looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our rapidly growing team. The role will involve undertaking a wide range of advisory and mental health work for the NHS.
This role will involve a full-time long-term secondment to a clients’ legal team in Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust - Preston. Secondments are requested by clients from time to time as additional support. Training will be given.
Key Responsibilities
- A long-term secondment to an NHS trust
- Drafting witness statements
- Research and drafting advice
- Organising medical records
- Preparing chronologies of medical records
- Preparing bundles of documents for use at Inquests
- Note taking at Inquests, meetings and conferences
- Meeting with clinicians and nursing staff ahead of inquests
- Running a case load of inquests and claims
- Attending court
- Answering the telephone and assisting with queries
- Assisting with administration tasks when required

What Are We Looking For
Important criteria:
- The ability to work independently in addition to as part of a team
- Ability to deliver technically accurate and appropriate advice to clients, colleagues and others
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures, whilst showing appropriate initiative
- Demonstrates competence in own area of expertise
- Demonstrates understanding of client needs/expectations
- Ability to interact and communicate with client and keep them up-to-date
- Excellent communication skills
It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:
- Regulatory/health law experience
