About the Role

As a Paralegal, you will manage a varied and often sensitive caseload, supporting the assessment and progression of regulatory concerns from receipt through to key decision-making stages.

• You will review complex evidence, identify key issues and risks, carry out enquiries where appropriate and prepare well-reasoned case summaries and recommendations to support proportionate regulatory decisions.
• Working closely with colleagues across Legal, Investigations, Hearings and Registration, you will help ensure casework is managed efficiently, consistently and in accordance with statutory requirements, regulatory frameworks and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of regulatory concerns, ensuring cases progress efficiently and in accordance with statutory requirements, internal policies and performance standards.
• Analyse and critically evaluate evidence from a wide range of sources to identify key issues, assess regulatory risk and support appropriate case progression.
• Apply legislation, regulatory frameworks and organisational policies to prepare clear, evidence-based recommendations that support fair, proportionate and defensible regulatory decisions.
• Undertake enquiries with employers, complainants, registrants and external organisations to obtain relevant information and clarify complex matters.
• Prepare clear, concise and well-reasoned case summaries, legal correspondence and decision records.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records using electronic case management systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance requirements.
• Build positive working relationships with complainants, registrants, legal representatives, employers and partner organisations, communicating professionally and sensitively throughout the regulatory process.
• Support lawyers and senior casework colleagues on complex casework where required.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency and operational performance.
• Share knowledge and support colleagues to promote consistent, high-quality regulatory casework.
• Work collaboratively with Legal, Investigations, Registration, Hearings and other internal teams to ensure effective public protection and consistent regulatory outcomes.
• Undertake additional regulatory casework and project work as required.
