Overview
Fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a long-term, successful career in Wealth Management by joining a growing business with a collegiate and nurturing culture where you will be directly supporting two advisors, rather than being part of pooled resource.
The focus of this role will be to provide a full range of paraplanner duties on a dedicated book of private clients, ensuring all wealth planning advice is clear, documented and compliant and to act as the subject matter expert on all wealth planning wrappers and products.
While performing these duties you will be gaining the required skills to develop your career either into a managerial role within our Paraplanner unit, or into a Lead Advisor position where we will be happy to support study towards further qualifications and we are proud to be able to evidence this progression within the business.

W1M was formed in 2024 through the merger of London & Capital and Waverton, two established wealth managers with over 40 years of history. Since then, the business has grown to over 400 employees and manages approximately £27+ billion in assets under management.

Key Accountabilities
Wealth Planning
- Complete client suitability reports and issue annual suitability review letters
- Ensure all clients understand the key features of advice that has been provided
- Provide solutions for UK & international clients
- Produce client cash flow analysis
- Review client risk profile reports
- Take notes at client meetings and follow-up on any actions as required
Client Management
- Communicating with clients via meetings, telephone calls and emails
- Working with Private Client Executives to guide clients through the account onboarding process
- Completing withdrawal call-backs with clients as required
- Working with incumbent custodians to retrieve client assets transfer data
Development
- Completion of exams
- Attending industry events and seminars
- Joining internal training and updates
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of paraplanning processes
Background and Experience required
- Hold the Diploma Level 4 qualification (or higher) – we will happily assist with any further study to obtain Chartered and / or Certified financial planner status
- Experience in a Paraplanner or similar role, within the Wealth / Investment management arena, working with HNW clients
- Understanding of financial planning process and associated compliance issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Familiarity with financial planning tools, financial modelling and back-office software
