Paraplanner
Location: Armitage, Staffordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: Dependent upon experience and qualifications - to around £50K, potentially higher for the right person
An excellent opportunity has arisen with a well-established independent Financial Planning firm for an experienced Paraplanner looking to work with genuinely high-quality clients and technically interesting financial planning cases.
The business advises High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients including business owners, entrepreneurs, senior executives, and multi-generational families, with client portfolios often ranging from £1 million to £10 million+.
This is not a role where you'll simply produce straightforward reports day after day. The advice is holistic, often involving complex retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, and investment strategies, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of Financial Planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
