Paraplanner – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About the Company

We are working with a well-established and highly respected financial planning firm supporting over 1,000 clients, including families, pension funds, trusts and charities.

The business has a strong focus on its local community, supporting a range of charities and good causes. It prides itself on building long-term client relationships based on transparency, trust and delivering high-quality financial planning advice.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join the Financial Planning team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, fully compliant financial advice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Paraplanner to gain further exposure to holistic financial planning, working closely with experienced Financial Advisers while continuing to develop their technical knowledge across a broad range of planning areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse clients' financial circumstances and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cash flow models.
  • Research and construct appropriate financial planning solutions.
  • Support advice across investments, retirement planning, long-term care, tax and inheritance planning.
  • Prepare suitability reports, recommendations, letters and other client documentation.
  • Maintain accurate client files and ensure IT records are kept up to date.
  • Support ongoing client reviews, including updating cash flow models and investment performance reports.
  • Liaise with administrators and other colleagues to ensure the advice process runs smoothly.
  • Communicate with clients by telephone, email, letter and face-to-face meetings where required.
  • Present solutions and recommendations to clients when appropriate.
  • Coordinate applications and provider paperwork, ensuring clients are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Work alongside professional connections, including solicitors and accountants, to help implement agreed client action plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
