Job Title: Paraplanner
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Location: Central London
About our clients and the role:
Swarm Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established London-based financial planning practice in their search for an experienced Paraplanner. Renowned for delivering tailored financial advice to private clients, the firm builds long-term relationships and takes a personalised approach to helping clients create, grow, protect and enjoy their wealth while achieving their financial goals at every stage of life.
The successful candidate will be joining a close-knit team in a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone has a voice and plays an important role in the firm's success. Personality and team fit are valued just as highly as technical ability, creating a culture where colleagues work hard, share knowledge and genuinely enjoy working together. With exceptional staff retention and a clear succession plan in place, the business offers long-term stability and continued investment in the growth of its paraplanning team.
Unlike many financial planning firms, success isn't driven by sales targets or volume. Growing almost exclusively through client referrals, the business is able to focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for its clients. Paraplanners are trusted as valued professionals, encouraged to challenge advisers where appropriate and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
