The Role: Paraplanner
Join our Menzies Wealth Management team as a Paraplanner and play a vital role in supporting our Financial Planners throughout the entire client journey. A successful candidate will:
- Collaborate seamlessly with Financial Planners and administration teams.
- Conduct rigorous research and prepare FCA-compliant suitability reports tailored to clients’ needs.
- Ensure smooth implementation of recommendations, acting as a client experience advocate while upholding the highest professional standards.
- Offer senior support where requested, maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Coordination:
- Work closely with Financial Planners and support teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience.
- Own the lifecycle of advice cases, from submission to implementation, while monitoring progress and resolving issues proactively.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings, capturing key information and reinforcing the Financial Planner’s recommendations.

Reporting & Analysis:
- Research and craft detailed, FCA-compliant suitability reports across diverse advice areas.
- Compile client data accurately and design clear, actionable recommendations.
- Maintain ** Accuracy & Turnaround – Meeting deadlines consistently while ensuring technical precision.

- Technical & Operational Skills:
- Conduct product and investment research to support planning objectives.
- Administer and analyse Management Information (MI) reports, ensuring delivery to completion.
- Demonstrate technical fluency in industry software, including:
- IT troubleshooting (identifying data integrity issues, implementing resolutions).
- Training colleagues on new tools and workflows.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
A strong candidate will demonstrate:
≥ Essential Requirements
- 3+ years of paraplanning experience (essential).
- Chartered or on final stages towards Chartered level (essential).
- Deep technical proficiency across:
- pensions advice (defined contribution/benefit schemes).
- investment planning (risk profiling, asset allocation).
- tax planning (inheritance, income, capital gains).
- transferable understanding of IFA/PFA fee structures.
- Exceptional customer service—experience in both face-to-face and telephone communication.
- Independence + teamwork: Ability to prioritise and deliver promptly while assisting colleagues.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working with High-Net-Worth (HNW) clients and complex wealth structures.
- Agency/outsourcing awareness: Menzies operates with a trusted PSL (Preferred Supplier List); Include your brokerage relationships if applying via external routes.
