Paraplanning Manager | Future Director Opportunity
📍 Bourne End, Buckinghamshire | £45,000 - £75,000 + Benefits
Lead Today. Shape the Future. Join the Board Tomorrow.
Not every management role comes with a genuine opportunity to influence the future of a business. This one does.
An established and highly respected Chartered Wealth Management firm is searching for an ambitious Paraplanning Manager to lead its technical team today—with a clearly defined pathway towards Board level and Directorship as the business continues to grow.
If you're currently a Senior Paraplanner, Paraplanning Team Leader, or an experienced paraplanner who naturally mentors colleagues and enjoys developing people, this could be the career move you've been waiting for.
The current leadership team is already planning for the future. They aren't simply hiring a manager—they're looking for someone who can become a key part of the senior leadership team, help shape the business over the coming years and ultimately earn a seat at the boardroom table.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of the firm's paraplanning and administration function, leading a talented technical team while driving operational excellence across the business.
Initially your focus will be on supporting, mentoring and developing the team, improving processes and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Over time, you'll become increasingly involved in business strategy, operational planning and the wider direction of the company as you progress towards Directorship.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
