About the Role
Parking Services is a key front-line service for the council. As Parking Services Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of all aspects of parking operations, including on- and off-street parking and civil enforcement, across a partnership of Maidstone and Swale Borough Councils.
This is an exciting opportunity, arising from the retirement of the current postholder, to shape and improve the service, ensuring it is efficient and customer-focused, supporting strategic the councils’ objectives and delivering value for money.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage parking services across both councils
- Develop and deliver parking strategies and service improvements
- Provide clear advice, analysis and insight to support decision-making
- Ensure efficient, compliant, and value-for-money service delivery
- Manage budgets, performance, and resources
- Build strong relationships with Members, partners, and stakeholders
- Handle complex enquiries, issues, and complaints
We are looking for an innovative and experienced manager with strong parking services knowledge and an understanding of the challenges local authorities face to support the delivery of our ambitious plan. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be supported in your professional development.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. This role offers the benefit of hybrid working, combining the flexibility to work from home with office-based working on a business needs basis. You will be required to attend the offices of the partnership, and meetings which may be outside of normal working hours, as needed.

About You:
You will be degree educated or equivalent with solid experience of management and development of all aspects of parking services, and a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation. Additionally, you will have team management experience and excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to develop good working relationships with the team, service users and members.
Selection Process:
Following the submission of your application form, it will be reviewed by the recruiting manager. Those that are successful in securing an interview can expect job-specific interview assessment, followed by an interview.
