Water Park Assistant Manager
Purpose of Position
Serves patrons and manage employees at the waterpark by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Schedules and supervises Lifeguards and Concession/Admission Attendants.
- Schedules and supervises swim lessons.
- Creates and completes required reports as directed by the Parks & Recreation Director.
- Total and confirm payroll prior to submitting to Parks & Recreation Director.
- Assists staff with registrations for programs and rentals.
- Assigns lifeguards daily duties.
- Checks conditions of waterpark daily.
- Checks all relevant pool chemical levels and adjusts accordingly every 2 hours.
- Maintains chemical inventory.
- Assist lifeguards with First Aid as needed.
- Makes daily deposits.
- Issues yearly passes and manage daily concessions.
- Maintain discipline while keeping a good working environment with staff.
- Handle concerns and/or community complaints in a positive and tactful manner.
- Handle concerns of lifeguards and attendants.
- Evaluate the pool in event of inclement weather/bodily substances.
- Orders concession supplies as needed.
- Inventories all concession supplies upon receipt/delivery.
- Pumps: turn pumps on/off at beginning/end of each day.
- Answer phones.
- Inspects facility and equipment; reports any changes/damages immediately to the Parks & Recreation Director.
- Communicates with Park/Pool Maintenance Aid on areas of concerns.
- Participate in special city events (ex: parade).
- Represents our City in a courteous, professional and tactful manner.

Additional Tasks And Responsibilities
- Conducts weekly in-services to ensure staff stay proficient with skills.
- Ensures Lifeguards swim a minimum of 150 yards weekly (3 laps).
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Every Applicant MUST:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass drug screening tests (initial and random).
- Be licensed as a lifeguard (with CPR, First Aid and AED) under StarGuard Elite or willing to obtain in May.
- Possess good communication and public relations skills.
- Be in good physical condition.
- Be able to perform outdoor duties.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Certificates/Licensures
- Licensed StarGuard Elite Instructor.
- Certified Starfish Instructor.
Supervision Duties
Manages a total of 7-12 employees daily at Winter Water Park. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
