As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join the team at our Fleet office.

Play an Important Role within Our Businesses

Working closely with our Operations Director, this varied and hands-on position offers the opportunity to play an important part in the day-to-day running of our finance function. You’ll take ownership of routine bookkeeping and accounts administration across our businesses, helping to ensure our financial records remain accurate, current and well controlled.

The role includes:

  • Processing and coding purchase invoices across our companies and branches.
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for approval.
  • Raising invoices, allocating receipts and carrying out credit control.
  • Completing bank, credit card and expense reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate records using Sage 50.
  • Supporting month-end, VAT and year-end processes.
  • Investigating discrepancies and contributing to continuous improvements within our finance processes.

About You

We’re seeking someone who is organised, dependable and enjoys working accurately with financial information. You’ll have previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or bookkeeping role and you will:

  • Be confident managing purchase and sales ledgers, as well as bank reconciliations.
  • Be accurate, well organised and happy to manage recurring deadlines.
  • Investigate discrepancies and take ownership of seeing tasks through.
  • Demonstrate strong Excel skills along with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Have experience using Sage 50, or if you have an AAT qualification /are studying towards one, this would be equally valued.

What We Offer

This is a permanent part-time position of approximately 20–25 hours per week, based at our Fleet office. The working pattern will be spread across four or five days, with the exact arrangement to be agreed prior to commencement.

The role offers a full-time equivalent salary of £28,000–£30,000, depending on experience, pro-rated to the agreed hours.

As part of a stable and established independent business, you’ll enjoy a varied role where you can take genuine ownership of routine finance processes while working closely with colleagues across the wider company.
