Part time Afternoon Cleaner

Part-Time Afternoon Cleaner – Fixed Term Contract (20 Hours/Week)

Location: Noel Baker Academy DE24 0BR

Contract Type: Fixed-term, 9-month contract

Salary & Benefits:

  • £12,455.80 per annum

Shift Pattern

  • Monday–Friday, 15:15–19:15
  • 4 weeks’ annual leave (no holiday during term time or during deep cleans)
  • Deep clean schedules (normally):
    • 1 week (Feb) – Mon–Fri, 7:00–11:30
    • 1 week (Apr) – Mon–Fri, 7:00–11:30
    • 2 weeks (Aug) – Mon–Fri, 7:00–11:30

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, health & safety, and presentation in all working areas
  • Report maintenance issues to the Caretaker promptly
  • Work under pressure, problem-solve, and use initiative when required
  • Adhere to all company systems, processes, and site rules
  • Wear the company uniform at all times and maintain a smart appearance
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and COSHH regulations
  • Follow equipment maintenance, cleaning, and storage instructions
  • Keep cupboards clean and locked when not in use
  • Proactively improve working practices while following safety procedures
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Caretaker
  • Respond to customer requests with professionalism and courtesy

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Enhanced DBS clearance (must be able to pass)
  • Experience in cleaning/hospitality industry with knowledge of housekeeping best practices
  • Strong timekeeping & attendance record
  • Outgoing personality with a customer service focus
  • Proven ability to deliver a high-quality service with attention to detail
  • BICS qualified or equivalent is desirable
