Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Billing & AR Manager to head our local Accounts Receivable (AR) team in London. In this role, you will take full operational ownership of the end-to-end Invoice-to-Cash function across Europe, managing day-to-day team performance, driving KPI fulfillment, and spearheading billing system automations.
Additionally, you will serve as the primary strategic contact in Europe for our Accounts Payable (AP) team based in China, ensuring smooth cross-border collaboration. The ideal candidate is a strong people manager and is fully fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership & End-to-End AR Management
- Directly lead, mentor, and manage the London-based AR team, fostering a high-performance culture and overseeing daily billing, cash application, and credit control activities.
- Establish, monitor, and hold the team accountable for core AR metrics, including collection targets, aging debt reduction, and billing accuracy.
- Conduct performance reviews, resource planning, and training for the London AR team to support their professional development and operational efficiency.
- Review comprehensive aging analysis, cash flow forecasting, and bad debt provisions for senior management.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex customer disputes, guiding the team toward swift resolutions.

Europe-China Financial Bridge (AP Team Collaboration)
- Act as the dedicated, on-the-ground European contact person for the centralized AP team based in China.
- Coordinate between the London AR function and the China AP team to facilitate seamless cross-border financial workflows, supplier queries, and international payment reconciliation.
- Bridge time zone and cultural differences to ensure alignment on global financial policies and compliance standards (e.g., European VAT/invoice regulations).
System Automation & Process Optimization
- Identify process bottlenecks within the team's current billing and collection workflows.
- Partner with the IT team to drive the continuous automation of billing systems.
- Standardize internal controls and document SOPs to ensure the London team operates under robust financial governance.
Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Study towards professional qualifications like ACCA, CIMA, or CPA are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable/Billing, with at least 1–2 years of proven experience directly managing an AR team (ideally within a multinational corporate or shared services environment).
Language Capabilities
- Absolute fluency in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory to effectively manage local operations and collaborate with stakeholders in China.
Leadership Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to motivate a team toward meeting aggressive cash-collection and accuracy KPIs.
