Role Description
The Part Time Canine Hydrotherapist will provide safe, effective hydrotherapy treatments for our existing canine patients in our on-site clinical centre in Nasty, Hertfordshire.
This role involves assessing dogs before treatment, preparing and operating hydrotherapy equipment (including pools but predominately underwater treadmill treatments, and monitoring each animal’s physical and emotional response during sessions. The hydrotherapist will follow treatment plans, record session notes, and communicate progress and recommendations to pet caregivers.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and secure treatment area, ensuring equipment hygiene and safety checks, and supporting appointment scheduling and client queries.

This is a part-time on-site role based at the Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Nasty, Herts with regular interaction with dogs of varying sizes, temperaments, and mobility needs.

Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in canine hydrotherapy to include treadmill techniques.
- Strong understanding of canine anatomy, common musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, and rehabilitation principles.
- Demonstrated ability to handle dogs safely and compassionately, including those with mobility challenges, anxiety, or behavioral sensitivities.
- Communication skills to explain treatment plans, progress, and home care guidance clearly to pet caregivers.
- Attention to detail in recording treatment notes.
- Physical capability to work in and around water, assist dogs in and out of hydrotherapy equipment, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and to build respectful, inclusive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Previous experience in animal care environment is highly beneficial, but mentoring is available onsite for those that lack experience.
- Flexible and reliable approach to part-time scheduling, including weekend shifts as needed.
