Class 1 Shunter Driver

Location: DPD Leeds – Howley Park, Morley, Leeds, LS27 0FU

Contract Details

  • Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 16–20 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday, with shifts starting at 23:00)
  • Pay: £16.35 per hour

The Role: Class 1 Shunter Driver

You’ll take ownership of our night-time yard operations, playing a critical role in maintaining our high-speed supply chain. Your precision will keep logistics flowing smoothly—every move counts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Maneuvering:
    • Safely and efficiently navigate trailers and tug units across the yard.
    • Demonstrate exceptional spatial awareness in tight, fast-paced environments.

  • Systems & Compliance:

    • Log all trailer transitions using our internal management systems.
    • Conduct pre-use vehicle inspections and uphold Tier 1 compliance standards.

  • Operational Performance:

    • Bridge the gap between warehouse operatives and fleet drivers.
    • Ensure seamless communication to optimise loading bays and meet schedules.
  • Dynamic Agility:

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team

  • Licence & Certification:

    • Valid Class 1 LGV Licence (C + E).
    • Current Driver CPC.
  • Mindset & Values:
