About the job:

The Centre for Dentistry at Queen's University Belfast is seeking enthusiastic clinicians to join our Clinical Teaching Fellow team in Restorative Dentistry. These are fixed term part-time posts (minimum one day per week; two or more days preferred), commencing September 2026 until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension subject to funding. Candidates who are available to work on a Thursday or Friday will be particularly welcomed, though all part-time applications of at least one day per week will be considered.

You must be capable of contributing to the clinical supervision of undergraduate dental students across a broad range of Restorative Dentistry Clinics, Operative Dentistry, Total Patient Care, Prosthetic Dentistry, Periodontology, Urgent Care Clinic and Dental outreach clinics. Teaching in the Clinical Skills Laboratory and contribution to a range of assessment activities are also expected. Responsibilities will include clinical supervision of students, and admin duties related to the provision of patient care, dental student education and assessment. Post holders must undertake relevant training and development to maintain up to date knowledge and their own continuing personal and professional development.

About the person:

Applicants must hold a registerable dental qualification (BDS, BChD or equivalent) and be fully registered with the UK General Dental Council. A minimum of four years' post-qualification clinical experience as a dentist is essential, and applicants must be currently or recently working as a dentist.

You will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, the ability to provide effective and constructive feedback, and a willingness to work as part of a collegiate team. Desirable attributes include previous experience of clinical supervision, teaching or formal assessment, and a postgraduate qualification or membership examination in Restorative Dentistry, or a postgraduate qualification Dental Education.
