Position Summary

The Fox School of Business at Temple University is seeking an accomplished financial services executive to serve as the Executive Director of the Fischer-Shain Center for Financial Services. This unique part-time leadership opportunity is ideal for an established banking or financial services professional passionate about developing future industry leaders while leveraging a distinguished professional network to strengthen connections between academia and practice.

The Executive Director (PT) will play a pivotal role in:

  • Expanding industry partnerships with senior executives and advisory board members.
  • Cultivating philanthropic support.
  • Giving students transformative experiences to prepare them for careers in commercial banking and financial services.

The Executive Director will oversee these initiatives with a focus on cultivating external partnerships, collaborating with:

  • Fox leadership
  • The Center’s Advisory Board
  • Industry professionals
  • Prospective donors

Hourly Rate Range: $41.00–$46.00/hour


Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • At least 7 years of experience in the financial services industry

Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Strong expertise in commercial banking.
  • Strong aptitude in organisational management:
    • Balancing multiple projects/deadlines
    • Communicating effectively (verbal, written) across diverse stakeholders: faculty, students, donors, and industry professionals
  • Event planning: designing/leading industry-focused events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Budget management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and standard software applications.
  • Connecting students with commercial banking networks to build their professional confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree
  • Teaching experience (undergraduate classes on commercial banking/experiential education)

Key Responsibilities

Advisory Board Support

  • Manage the Fischer-Shain Center’s Advisory Board:
    • Build and schedule meetings.
    • Recruit board members.
    • Coordinate industry hoc feedback and review on curriculum.
    • Foster networking, internship, and hiring opportunities within the financial services and banking sector.

Donor & Scholarship Engagement

  • Partner with the Fox Development Office:
    • Identify appraise, and expand habitational gifts to the center.
    • Streamline scholarship selection and award processes.

Event & Program Leadership

  • Plan and execute banking industry conferences and events, e.g.:
    • Set programming topics and delivery formats.
    • Engage potential donors, speakers, and session partners.
  • Mentor students for industry co-curricular activities (research, seminars, alumni networking events).

Collaboration

  • Enhance institutional collaboration with Fox faculty, academic staff, and decision-makers to prepare students for long-term career success.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid scheduling: Part-time on-campus and remote work.
  • Arrangement duration per university department discretion.
