A not-for-profit company serving the local community is looking for a part-time Finance Director for either 2 or 3 days to help provide senior financial leadership and commercial insight.
Your new role
Reporting to the CEO and replacing the current interim Finance Director, we are looking for a commercial finance director with renewable energy experience to help add value to the business. The role will include:
- Overseeing and supporting a Financial Controller who is focused on the day-to-day running of the finances.
- Strategic financial planning - working with the Managing Director to identify risks, opportunities, and financial resilience.
- Investment appraisal - Provide commercial insight and financial challenge for investment decisions.
- Funding strategies - lead on corporate finance matters, including the structuring of project finance and funding packages.
- Board and committee assurance.
- Senior review of financial outputs and business partner with the wider team.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for an experienced Finance Director, Head of Finance, or Commercial Director with a proven track record of advising senior leadership teams/boards. You should have extensive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to help support decision-making in a renewable energy/energy business. Knowledge of Xero or similar cloud-based software would be beneficial but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This is a flexible role where you only need to be on-site 1 day per week. It is anticipated that the role will be required 2-3 days per week, but the client is open to how this is made up and what it looks like.
