Part-Time Financial Controller – Bishop’s Stortford

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Financial Controller to join The Part-Time Finance People and support our client in Bishop’s Stortford.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll take ownership of the finance function, provide meaningful commercial insight, and help business owners make informed, confident decisions. You’ll work flexibly across a range of growing businesses, delivering high-value financial support where it matters most.

About You

You’re an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys working closely with SMEs and becoming a trusted part of the leadership team. You combine strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused approach and are confident communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Ideally, you’re already operating on a self-employed or contract basis, available for a minimum of 2 days per week, and able to start at short notice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
