Role Overview

This is a fixed term (0.4 FTE) position covering maternity leave, running from 28th August 2026 to 22nd October 2027, operating as a job share.

You will support students in global mobility opportunities, guiding them through pre-departure, in-programme, and post-experience stages, while also managing the Turing Scheme administration and supporting academic/diversification opportunities.

  • Wings of the Job Share: One half is already filled; your working pattern can be selected from:

    • Option a) Wed (5 hrs), Thu (5.5 hrs) & Fri (5.5 hrs) – School hours-based
    • Option b) Thu & Fri (7.5 hrs each) + 1-hour Wednesday handover (16 hrs total)

Essential: Flexibility on Thursday/Friday; some handover with the existing job share (Mon-Wed contractor).

About the Role

You will:

  • Promote and recruit students for global opportunities, including:
    • Semester abroad programmes
    • Funding through the Turing Scheme
    • Work placements (in partnership with Careers, UK)
    • Postgraduate dissertation research placements

Quality Requirements:

Transversal Skills: ✔ Strong record-keeping/database experience with proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools ✔ Evidence of teamworking in higher education or comparable domains ✔ Superior administrative and organisational skills, with proven multitasking ✔ Effective communication and presentation skills (including diplomacy and conflict resolution) ✔ Able to manage pressure and thrive in a busy/workload-heavy environment

Academic and Mobility Background: ✔ Degree-educated (including grade C/equivalent in English and Mathematics at GCSE) ✔ Understanding of international student mobility and support frameworks


Requirements & Eligibility

  • Evening/weekend flexibility is important due to time zones, deadlines, or event requirements.

Key Job Details

Job Title: Global Exchange Advisor (Fixed-Term Part-Time) Pay Grade: 6 Salary: £13,580 to £15,077 per annum (pro rata £33,951 to £37,694)

  • Default start point is salary lower boundary unless you have historic exceptional experience.
