Global Exchange Advisor (Job Share) – Bath Spa University

About the Role
The Global Exchange Advisor will support students in securing and maximising their global mobility opportunities, guiding them through every stage—from pre-departure advice to post-exchange experiences. The role also focuses on alternative opportunities such as:
- Funding via the University of Bath Turing Scheme
- Placements through Careers, University and Industry (CUI)
- Dissertation research placements
You will collaborate with the other job-sharing advisor who is already in post—they primarily cover Monday to Wednesday, while your 0.4 role is to provide parallel support covering Thursday and Friday (7.5 hours each) with 1 hour weekly handover on Wednesdays (16 hours total).
(Occasional weekend/evening work is required.)

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Advice:
- Support students throughout their global mobility journey (pre-departure, during exchange, post-return)
- Promote and facilitate Go Global initiatives to enhance student career and academic development
- Provide guidance on funding (e.g., Turing scheme funding for exchanges)
- Assist with placements, dissertation research, and career development

Administration & Reporting:
- Jointly manage the Turing scheme administrative aspects
- Maintain accurate records and reporting across programs
- Hear and manage student queries, ensuring a smooth experience in global opportunities

- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Global Exchange, Careers team, academics, and administrative partners
- Maintain effective job share communication and record-keeping with colleagues
About You
To excel in this role, you have:
Must-Have Experience/Education:
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent relevant experience)
- GCSEs or equivalent in English Language & Mathematics (Grade C/4+)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Record-keeping and administrative documentation
- Computerised systems (databases, Microsoft 365, internet tools)
- Higher education student mobility sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to avail flexibility around standard working hours
- Ability to operate effectively in a job share team and maintain accountability
Technical & Soft Skills:
✦ Operational Efficiency – Ensure smooth running through excellent organisation ✦ International Mobility Expertise – Understanding of global student experience & exchange support ✦ Btn/#Policy Awareness – Familiarity with Turing Scheme & EU exchange funding mechanisms

Salary & Contract Terms
- Grade 6, 0.4 fixed-term contract (pro-rata salary £33,951–£37,694 annually of Grade 6 full time range £13,580–£15,077)
- Covering maternity leave
- Contract duration: 28 August 2026 – 22 October 2027
