The Role – Kitchen Porter

As a Kitchen Porter at Potters Resorts Five Lakes, you’ll be a crucial part of ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include cleaning, food preparation, sanitisation, waste management, and assisting chefs to uphold the highest food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitise, and organise kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen surfaces, floors, and workspaces
  • Assist with food prep tasks, such as chopping vegetables, prepping ingredients, and supporting chefs
  • Collect and dispose of kitchen waste safely and efficiently
  • Ensure food and equipment storage complies with health and safety standards
  • Assist with deliveries and stock organisation
  • Follow food safety regulations, including hygiene and safety protocols
  • Maintain a positive, professional relationship with colleagues and supervisors
  • Adhere to company health, safety, and operational policies

Hours & Pay

  • Part-time role (20–25 hours per week)
  • Straight shifts only – No split shifts required
  • Shift patterns:
    • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Pay: Between £10.85 and £12.71 per hour, depending on age

Mandatory Requirements: ✅ A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (public transport unavailable). ✅ Not open to students looking for part-time work during term time (this is a permanent position).


Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferred but not essential: Prior kitchen-related experience
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision
  • Team player with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to follow instructions effectively
