We are currently seeking a part-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Media, who will teach across creative media and related programmes in The School of Art, Film and Media as appropriate. You will also contribute to curriculum planning and development and engage in research and scholarly activity.

(This is a 0.3, part-time, fixed term contract covering maternity leave until 17/08/2027)

About the Role

Within the role, you will undertake high-quality teaching across undergraduate modules, providing academic support and guidance to students throughout their studies. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering engaging learning experiences
  • Marking assessments
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Participating in assessment boards and examination meetings in accordance with University regulations

The role also involves carrying out associated administrative duties, maintaining accurate records, engaging in ongoing professional development to remain current within the relevant subject area, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

About You

  • Postgraduate Qualification
  • Subject specialist
  • Experience of module leading
  • FHEA or near completion
  • Research Active in related field
  • Experience of teaching students from different subject backgrounds.

Additional Information

Grade Ac3S/Ac3A - Starting from £13,423 rising to £16,960 per annum, pro rata £44,746 - £56,536

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

This is a 0.3, part-time, fixed term contract covering maternity leave from 18/08/2026 – 17/08/2027)

Applicants with two years or less full time equivalent teaching experience in Higher Education who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to complete an approved Certificate in Professional Learning in Higher Education course during the first two years of employment.

Applicants with more than two years full time equivalent teaching experience in Higher Education who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to accredit their practice through the HEA fellowship application process during their 6 month probation period.
