Interim Management Accountant - Part-Time

Location: Near Bicester, Oxfordshire

Contract: Interim

Working pattern: 3 days per week, fully on site

An established manufacturing business near Bicester is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to support its finance function on an interim, part-time basis.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly understand the operation, produce accurate management information and work closely with finance and operational stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate must be available to work three days per week on site. Due to the operational nature of the role, remote working is not available.

The Role

The Interim Management Accountant will take responsibility for management reporting, financial analysis and operational finance support within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Producing accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
  • Analysing manufacturing costs, margins, overheads and operational performance
  • Reviewing inventory, stock movements and work in progress
  • Investigating variances and providing clear commentary to senior management
  • Supporting month-end processes and ensuring reporting deadlines are met
  • Working closely with operational and production teams
  • Improving financial controls, reporting processes and management information
  • Providing additional finance support as required during the interim assignment

You will be a qualified accountant with strong management accounting experience gained within a manufacturing environment.

You will need:

  • A recognised accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA or QUALIFIED BY EXPERIENCE
  • Previous management accounting experience within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of stock, inventory, standard costing, margins and manufacturing variances
  • Experience preparing monthly management accounts
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • The ability to work independently and quickly become effective
  • A practical, hands-on and commercially focused approach
  • Availability to work three days per week on site near Bicester

Applicants must be able to commute reliably to the Bicester area and be available to work on site for all three working days.
