Part-Time Payroll Manager
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function and ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of payroll across the business. This part-time role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys combining operational excellence with continuous improvement, while working closely with HR, Finance, and key stakeholders. This is a hybrid part-time role, working 2 days per week from home (2 WFH) and 1 day per week at Head Office.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with UK payroll legislation and internal policies.
- Working collaboratively across the business, you'll oversee payroll operations, support system and process improvements, and provide expert guidance on payroll-related matters.
- This includes responsibility for:
- Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process.
- Ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in line with statutory requirements.
- Maintaining employee payroll records, including salaries, deductions, pensions, benefits, and statutory payments.
- Managing HMRC submissions, tax codes, National Insurance, pensions, and year-end payroll activities.
- Reconciling payroll reports and ensuring all payroll journals are completed accurately.
- Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries from colleagues and managers.
- Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date.
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiency.
- Supporting payroll audits and ensuring GDPR and data security standards are maintained.

What You'll Bring:
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly experienced in managing end-to-end UK payroll.
- Confident in UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Experienced in payroll systems and advanced Excel.
- Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to work accurately to payroll deadlines.
- A strong communicator who can build effective relationships across HR, Finance, and the wider business.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive payroll information with integrity.
- Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
