A successful and fast growing organisation based in St Albans are looking for a Buyer to join a busy team.

The Buyer will be responsible for supporting and working with the Account Management Team & Technical Team on resourcing projects/new product launches & critical path management for continuity product, as well as providing administrative support to the Buying/Sourcing Team.

What’s In It For You

  • Salary: £27,200 (£34k FTE)
  • Hours: 30hrs per week, 4 days per week - 2 compulsory days in office Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 days home working
  • 4x salary Life Insurance

  • Responsible for sample development, managing sourcing sheets and critical path
  • Ensuring day-to-day follow up with factories & suppliers is actioned and relevant teams are kept up to date
  • Maintaining swatch book library and sourcing new fabrics with a focus on sustainability
  • Support sign off for new products/ranges
  • Ensure Technical Packs are correct for the factory & the Merchandising team
  • Provide the Merchandising team with all relevant product detail; Technical Packs, Visuals & Cost prices to ensure orders are raised accurately and efficiently
  • Support fit process
  • Support of packaging developments
  • Handle all submissions, bulks & lab dips and ensuring comments are sent on time.
  • Ensure product quality is kept up to standard
  • Have a good technical understanding of all industry fabric
  • Provide support to the Buying Manager/Technical Team to ensure all factories are following company guidelines
  • Provide administrative support to the Buying/Sourcing team, as required

What The Employer Is Looking For

  • Experience in buying and/or product development, ideally experienced working on clothing
  • Technical Fabric knowledge desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with a systematic approach to working
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as in a team
  • Capability of working on multiple projects in parallel & prioritising own workload
  • Experience working to a Product Development/Production calendar and tight deadlines
  • Ability to cope under pressure to meet the demand of the business
  • Experience of working closely with manufacturers on development
