Hanover Healthfoods is a privately owned, independent specialist health store located in the center of Edinburgh, with roots dating back to 1904. Recognized as one of the oldest surviving health food stores in the English-speaking world, the shop offers a carefully curated range of nutrition and herbal remedies supported by broader dietary and lifestyle advice. The team collectively brings over 50 years of experience, providing face-to-face guidance to customers on their health needs. Hanover Healthfoods values collaboration within the local health community and maintains strong relationships with other businesses. Hanover Healthfoods has also won more awards than any other Scottish health store.
Role Description
The Part Time Sales Advisor will work on-site at the Hanover Healthfoods store in the City of Edinburgh, supporting customers with health-related product selection and advice. Responsibilities include:

This is a part-time position requiring regular, consistent attendance on-site and collaboration with the small, experienced team.
The role is for 15 hours per week over 2 days. Hanover Healthfoods is a Real Living Wage Employer.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to build trust and support diverse customers face to face.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to explain health products and lifestyle advice clearly and accurately.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate products, and contribute to store revenue.
- Candidates should be quick thinkers and be able to learn and understand the role of hundreds of products.
- Interest or background in nutrition, herbal remedies, or holistic health is highly beneficial.
- Ability to stand for periods of time, handle stock, and operate a point-of-sale system reliably.
- Prior retail or health store experience is an advantage but not essential if there is a strong willingness to learn.
