Role Description
The Part-time Tech Instructor will deliver interactive technology lessons to children in South Buckinghamshire primarily in school settings, after-school clubs, and holiday workshops. This on-site role involves preparing lesson materials, setting up equipment (such as laptops, tablets, and robotics kits), and teaching small groups using the ComputerXplorers curriculum. The Instructor will manage classroom behaviour, ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, and adapt teaching approaches to different ages and abilities. The role includes travelling between sites in the local area, maintaining basic records of attendance and student progress, and communicating with school staff and the program coordinator. This is a part-time position that requires access to a car for regular travel between locations.

- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage children, liaise with school staff, and respond professionally to parents or guardians.
- Basic inventory control skills to track and manage teaching materials, devices, and robotics kits across multiple sites.
- Ability to handle shipping and receiving of equipment or learning resources between locations when required.
- Comfort with operating and safely handling technical or classroom equipment; forklift operation experience is beneficial for managing larger shipments but not essential.
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or extracurricular settings, preferably teaching technology, STEM, or related subjects.
- Competence with computers and common software applications; familiarity with coding, robotics, or digital media is advantageous.
- Reliable access to a car, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel between schools and activity venues in High Wycombe and surrounding areas.
- Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and the ability to work independently while following a structured curriculum.
- Relevant training or education in teaching, childcare, IT, or a related field is preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
