Part-Time Workforce Administrator
Workforce Administrator – The Farndon Unit
Working Hours
- Regular hours: Thursday and Friday, 9am to 5pm (15 hours per week)
- Additional support may be required for:
- Covering annual leave
- Training (Monday–Wednesday)
About the Role
Become a Workforce Administrator at The Farndon Unit, where your work supports recruitment, workforce management, and the smooth running of the centre.
As part of the friendly and supportive administrative team, you’ll collaborate with the corporate recruitment team, manage workforce compliance, process employment changes and payroll queries, and maintain organised records.
With the right skills and a passion for long-term career growth, this role offers training opportunities to help you achieve your professional goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate administrative support:
- Liaising with head office/payroll, ensuring document transmission
- Handling reception coverage as needed
- Creating and updating HR files (paper and digital)
- Recruitment and onboarding assistance:
- Supporting recruitment processes
- Managing induction and new starter administration
- Employee lifecycle management:
- Processing leavers, contract variations, maternity, paternity, and changes
- Conducting ongoing compliance checks
- Systems administration:
- Operating Unit4 employee system
- Managing Honeydew absence system
- Handling internal HR/Emplyee Co-ordination Request (ER) processes
- Reporting:
- Generating necessary reports as required

Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll have:
- Experience:
- Secretarial or administrative background
- Qualifications:
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Mathematics), or equivalent
- Skills:
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and security protocols
Location & Work Environment
The Farndon Unit is a purpose-built low secure hospital in Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG24 4SW). It provides personalised recovery-based treatment for women with complex mental health and learning disability needs, offered under a multi-disciplinary care model.
