Part-Time Year 6 SATs Teaching Assistant (TA) | Barnet | September 2026

The Role

Key Details

  • Duration: September 2026 – July 2027 (term-time only)
  • Hours: Part-time (8:45am – 1:00pm)
  • ** responsibility**: Targeted Year 6 SATs intervention in Mathematics and English

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality intervention in Maths and English
  • Provide outstanding 1:1 and small-group tuition
  • Support pupils in areas such as:
    • Arithmetic, reasoning, reading comprehension
    • Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing
  • Work closely with Year 6 teachers to:
    • Monitor progress
    • Tailor interventions effectively
  • Contribute to helping pupils achieve Expected and Greater Depth standards before transitioning to secondary school

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • First-Class or 2:1 degree from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university (strongly preferred)
  • Outstanding A-Level and GCSE results, particularly in Mathematics and English
  • Strong academic background with the confidence to deliver high-quality SATs intervention
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
