Manchester |Partner level | Permanent

Orwins is growing – deliberately, strategically and at pace. We are looking for an exceptional Commercial lawyer ready to step into a partner-level role and help us shape what our commercial team becomes.

We do law differently. Less hierarchy, more ambition. A genuine commitment to doing brilliant work for clients and building a firm people are proud to be part of. If you are an experienced commercial lawyer with a strong client base, a commercial mindset and the drive to grow a practice – this is your opportunity to do exactly that with the full backing of the firm behind you.

What This Looks Like Adding value to our commercial team offering – building, developing and growing a high-quality practice. Advising a broad range of clients — businesses, senior executives and employers — on contentious and non-contentious commercial matters. Playing a genuine business development role — bringing clients with you, developing new relationships and positioning Orwins as the law firm of choice in our markets. Working collaboratively across the firm – there is a strong cross-referral culture here and an expectation that partners invest in the wider business, not just their own practice. Mentoring and developing more junior members of the team – contributing to a culture of genuine professional growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
