As a Partner in the Colchester Agency, you’ll be part of a 30-strong team dedicated to growing the business across all sectors. You’ll play a pivotal role in leading the business, spanning leadership, sales, customer relationship management, and long-term strategic planning.
You’ll forge new alliances across a range of sectors in the southeast. This is a self-employed growth opportunity working with experienced partners and the support of one of the UK’s largest insurers.
Your experience and commercial flair
Alongside the existing partners in this insurance agency, you will be part of the agency leadership team. Combining your knowledge of the farming and/or rural world and your leadership skills, you’ll create bespoke insurance solutions that meet the needs of our diverse clients. You’ll be a driving force behind the agency’s growth and innovation. The diversification and modernisation of agriculture in the southeast is your opportunity to thrive in this incredible sector.

You’ll achieve this by using your strong track record as a business leader and direct experience of managing large, high-profile accounts to drive results and innovate your team. You’ll use your people skills to build strong and lasting relationships with an ever-growing portfolio of large agricultural businesses. You’ll also drive business growth beyond farming, tapping into local hotspots of High Net Worth and Small Medium Enterprises across a range of sectors.
With the support of NFU Mutual and a strong and loyal customer base, this self-employed opportunity gives you the independence to put big expansion plans in place, whilst ensuring sustainable growth.
NFU Group Secretary
One of the other aspects of this opportunity is being appointed an NFU Group Secretary. You’ll be the voice of the Union, bringing the agriculture community together and sharing best-practice and policy updates.
With full backing from the NFU, you’ll have access to expert advice and specialist support on everything from policy and increasing membership numbers to marketing and media. You’ll support over 350 active members across three sites, helping grow membership and unlocking future business opportunities for your agency.

As a self-employed Partner and Agent of NFU Mutual, your earnings are based on the performance of the agency. However, this is a self-employed opportunity with a difference. Unlike most business ventures which demand start-up funding or venture buy-ins, our model requires zero upfront capital investment.
