A Rare Partnership Opportunity

A prestigious and highly regarded Surrey-based law firm is seeking an exceptional Private Client Partner to lead and accelerate the growth of its thriving Private Client department.

This is a career-defining move for an experienced Private Client specialist eager to assume a true leadership role within a dynamic, well-established firm. You will:

  • Inherit a substantial and loyal client base
  • Oversee a team of approximately 10 legal professionals and support staff
  • Play a key role in shaping the future growth and strategy of the department

The firm offers high-impact work, significant autonomy, and the opportunity to become a core member of the leadership team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a successful Private Client team of ~10 lawyers and support staff
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior and senior team members

  • Client Advisory:

    • Advise on complex wills, trusts, estate planning, and succession matters
    • Manage high-value probate and estate administration cases
    • Provide expertise in inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and wealth preservation strategies
    • Serve high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trustees, and business owners
  • Business Growth:

    • Strengthen relationships with key referrers, accountants, financial advisers, and professionals
    • Drive strategic departmental growth through business development
    • Collaborate with the firm’s leadership team on overall business direction

About You

The ideal candidate is an ** accomplished Private Client Solicitor** with:

  • Partner, Legal Director, or Senior Associate experience (or readiness to transition into Partnership)
  • Extensive technical expertise in all aspects of Private Client law
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with proven ability to develop successful teams
  • Commercial acumen and a proven track record in generating and scaling work
  • Exceptional client relationship and business development skills
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to mentoring others
