We're looking for an experienced Partnerships & Development Manager to play a pivotal role in the development of Synergy, Sheffield's VCSE Mental Health Alliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled partnership-builder, influencer and collaborator who thrives on bringing organisations together to achieve lasting impact.
About the Role
As Partnerships & Development Manager, you'll be at the heart of a growing alliance of voluntary, community and statutory organisations working together to improve mental health and wellbeing across Sheffield. You'll build and strengthen relationships, identify opportunities for growth and innovation, and help ensure that people with lived experience are central to everything we do.
Working across health, social care and the voluntary sector, you'll support partners to collaborate effectively, influence system change and deliver programmes that improve outcomes for local communities.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll:
- Build, develop and maintain strategic partnerships across the voluntary, community, health and social care sectors.
- Act as a trusted relationship manager for Alliance partners, commissioners, funders and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for service development, innovation and sustainable growth.
- Facilitate partnership meetings, workshops and learning events that encourage collaboration and shared learning.
- Lead and support projects and programmes, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, timelines and outcomes.
- Champion equity, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice across all aspects of the Alliance's work.
- Use insight, evidence and lived experience to influence service improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Support funding opportunities, business development activity and the long-term sustainability of the Alliance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
